Bose Ogulu is the mother of Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu aka Burna Boy who is also his manager. She was born into the Idonije family, As the daughter of Benson Idonije, the first manager of afrobeats legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, one can say she learnt a thing or two during the time her father’s time as the manager of the legendary afrobeats star. She became an internet session when she went on stage to receive Burna boys’ award at the 2018 Soundcity music awards and quickly stole the hearts of many with her unforgettable speech which caused many to praise her on social media. But there is more to “Mama Burna” than just a manager extraordinaire as many people only know her to be.

1) She is committed to youth development and does not agree with any gender roles. According to her, this has helped her level the balance of parenting her children. She also acted as CEO of Language Bridges, a language and Music school where she organized cultural immersion trips for over 1,800 youths from 1997 – 2015.
2) She has a passion for communication and languages and this love has driven her to learn and master three foreign languages namely – French, German and Italian coming out with a second class upper degree in foreign languages from the university of benin and Master of Arts in translation.
3) Not just a mother and daughter, Bose Ogulu doubles as a manager for her two of her children, Damini aka burna boy and Nissi, both Afrobeats artists and also her father Mr Benson Idonije, who is an author.
