Woman arrested for locking up five-year-old nephew for 6 months in Lagos A woman was arrested for allegedly detaining and beating her 5-year-old nephew for six months.
Sharon Williams, 43, had Micheal Ibiyome, a 5-year-old boy, living with her at Gberigbe, Ikorodu, Lagos, and allegedly abused him several times.
She is accused of depriving him of education, food, love, and the ability to go about.
In the most recent development, the suspect is accused of inflicting injuries on the back of Ibiyome’s head with a cutlass, prompting a neighbour to report the incident to the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs, which forwarded the case to the state Ministry of Youths, Sports, and Social Development.

On July 14, at about 8 p.m., the suspect was apprehended at her home.
Lateef Akinborode, the Lagos State Deputy Coordinator for Child Protection, said the suspect surrendered herself for arrest after security authorities tried to obtain entry to her flat.
Sharon Williams was apprehended and transported to the Ijede Police Station after she finally opened the door.
The youngster was discovered with a major cut on his skull and several injuries on his body behind a fridge in the living room. He had been cuffed for far too long, and his hands were rigid.
