Don’t leave God in the journey of your courtship. Never court in sin, lest you start cutting yourself into pieces unknowingly.
Your relationship should move you closer to God and not take you away from Him. No one should take the place of God, your Creator, in your life.
Where you have to appease your husband/wife-to-be at all times before he/she can behave well, get the good side of him/her and move along with you, it is a dangerous practice and a signal that you have made the person more important, while you have become less important in the relationship. The two of you should value each other. There should be a free flow of effective communication.
Moreover, you are preparing your spouse-to-be as a deity that you have to appease all your life.
Wisdom requires that you don’t ignore red signals before you go to the altar and get married.
Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
Ephesians 5:17 (NLT)
I wish you all the best in God in your marital journey.
