Gov Wike blasts IPOB separatists:
Wike blasts IPOB separatists We will blast your heads off and bury you like vultures,’ Governor Wike threatens IPOB separatists
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) separatists who commit arson, robbery, or murder could have their hands removed and buried like vultures, according to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
He went on to say that rumors about IPOB members arming themselves with charms in order to stay indestructible or avoid capture are all lies.
“When they mention IPOB, they are bringing juju with them.
That’s not a problem, you say.
But what’s going on?
Are they not going to die?
As a result, don’t be fooled by juju.
“‘Today, the 2nd of June 2021, I repent,’ said all of you criminals present.
The period has arrived if you do not repent.
Your parents will not bury you when you die.
We will bury you like a vulture. Either your hand will be cut off, or they will blow your head off. Your parents would not even know that you are dead,” the governor thundered in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
IPOB activists want Biafra, an Igbo-speaking homeland created out of modern-day Nigeria.
Attempts to establish a Biafran state in the past, most notably in 1967, culminating in a civil war that claimed the lives of over a million people.
President Muhammadu Buhari recently stated that people calling for a Biafra state now are too young to comprehend how horrific and terrible the 1967-1970 civil war was—and continues to be—for a young Nigeria.
Separatists have been implicated for recent killings and torchings of democracy facilities in the southeastern region, which has been increasingly restive.
