What Is The Most Difficult Truth You Had To Face That Made You Stronger?
One of the first lessons I learned in life was while playing online Scrabble with a Facebook friend named Emmanuel. He’s far too skilled at the game. And playing Scrabble is the simplest way for me to learn and master the game. Every time I played against Emmanuel, he would beat me.
And I still remember it vividly because these were my thoughts and I was an amateur, but that didn’t stop me from playing the game with him for nearly two weeks and he kept defeating me.
Surprisingly, I won after only a week. I made the bold decision to play with him for another week in order to beat her one more time. I’m consistently winning, and within a few days of winning, I had a profound realization.
My game was improving as long as I was losing to Emmanuel. Since I started winning against him, only my ego has grown; my game has not.
The difficult truth is, I realized that if you want to grow as a person, you should surround yourself with people you admire. Surround yourself with people who look up to you if you want to develop your ego.
What are your thoughts on the matter?
