The Sudden Death Of Dr. Obadiah Mailafia – Murdered or Natural Death?

    Mailafia

Nigerians have mourned a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Obadiah Mailafia.

Sunday morning in the Abuja National Hospital, the 64-year old developing economist died.

SOKAPU spokesperson Luka Binniyat said, after alleged persistent harassment by the State Services Department (DSS), Mailafia took refuge at the Benue state in Makurdi, fell sick on Saturday, and was rushed to Abuja hospital where he was declared dead on Sunday mornings. He was reported to have been killed on a SOKAPU basis.

In the 2019 election, the former deputy governor who was ADC candidate for President was a well-known critic of the government and advocated reforms of the public sector and the exchange rate.

In 2005 Mailafia was appointed CBN’s Deputy Governor of the AfDB where he served as the Chief Economist for Strategic Planning and Corporate Accountability.

He was a powerful voice for social justice before his premature death. Until the very end, he was treated unequally by Sowore’s unlawful DSS agents of Muhammadu Buhari’s unconscious and tyrannical regime.

Note: He felt sick on Saturday and was rushed to an Abuja hospital where he was pronounced dead on Sunday morning.
