A mother loses 4 children as Tanker crushes 15 Army day secondary school pupils to death in Delta.
On July 8, fifteen students from the Army Day Secondary School in Effurun, Delta State’s Uvwie Local Government Area, were crushed to death by a petrol truck.
According to sources, the driver of a tanker loaded with petroleum products was speeding when he lost control and knocked over several of the students walking home after school owing to brake failure.
While many of the students died on the scene, those who suffered significant injuries were taken to the Army Hospital at Effurun Barracks for treatment.
According to Ossai Success Ovie, a media advisor to the state governor, who confirmed the occurrence that one woman lost four children and another lost three.
