Son of Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher suffers horror injury

    Carragher

On Wednesday, November 10th, the son of Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was involved in a serious accident during an EFL match between lower league sides Wigan and Shrewsbury.

In a Football League Trophy match, Carragher Jr was injured in a terrible incident while playing for Wigan.

Wigan had already taken the lead through Adam Long, but Carragher Jr was unfortunate to be involved in an unfortunate mishap as the home side cruised.

Carragher Jr., like his father, played defender for Wigan. The accident happened while he was attempting to recover a 50-50 ball and collided with his opponent.

With only 22 minutes remaining in the first half, an accident occurred at the DW Stadium.

Following the incident, the centre-back immediately dropped to the ground and appeared to be in excruciating pain, waving for help from the medical crew. He was treated, but he was unable to continue playing or walk off the field. Soon after, Carragher Jr was replaced by Divin Baningime.

On Thursday, November 11th, the defender, who was 19 on that day, had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

It was only his third professional football game, and there are already fears that he will be sidelined for a long time early in his career.

Carragher senior wished his son a happy birthday and a speedy recovery on his official Instagram account.

Along with a photo he said, “19 today big fella! @jamescarragher_ worried us again last night coming off on the stretcher but it’s been like that for the last 19 yrs!!

If you show the same character you’ve shown since this day in 2002 you’ll be back in no time. Love you son & very proud of you. ❤️⚽️ #happybirthday.”

Wigan are yet to announce the extent of his injury on their website and social media platforms.
