Shocking! Read What Frank Akpan Did In The Police Custody
Frank Akpan, the young man who allegedly carried out the gruesome murder of a job seeker, Miss Hiny Umoren was this morning found dead in the police at Ikot Akpanabia State command.
It was reported that Frank Akpan hung himself using his trousers by tying them to the metal frame of his cell door. Akpan was last seen alive by 19.30 yesterday when he was served his evening meal of bread and edikangikong.
On Thursday, April 29, 2021, Umoren, 26, was lured to Airport Road Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, before she was raped and murdered.
Umoren had shown up at the address for a job interview that never was.
20-year-old Frank Akpan confessed to the crime a couple of days later, according to the police, and remains in custody.
On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, investigative journalist David Hundeyin published a report in Newswirengr.com, in which he alleged that Akpan didn’t commit the crime alone and that there is some evidence that the suspect worked in cahoots with a certain Kufre Effiong, a civil servant and Superintendent of Police, Samuel Ezeugo, among others.
However, many people were shocked when Frank mentioned prominent names, that bought human parts from him. They suggested he should be watched closely to avoid him harming himself.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is yet to confirm the report.
It’s unlikely if Umoren will get a well-deserved justice.
