Shocking! Gunmen Kidnap Ibrahim Kurami’s Wife And Children
On Saturday night, gunmen suspected of being bandits attacked the country home of Dr. Ibrahim Kurami, a member of the Katsina State House of Assembly representing Bakori Constituency.
The country house is located in the state’s lawmaker’s village of Kurami, Bakori Local Government Area.
Residents reported that the gunmen stormed the house at 9 p.m., shortly after Muslims’ night prayers, and shot at a member of the Islamic First Aid Group meeting at the main gate.
The victim was injured by the gunshots and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to the report, the gunmen then kidnapped two of the lawmaker’s children and his wife.
Residents said the trio’s whereabouts were still unknown as of Sunday when this report was filed.
It was also learned that the lawmaker, who immediately left for Katsina after attending the APC council Congress in the area on Saturday, was later informed of the incident.
On Saturday night, security operatives were dispatched to the scene of the incident and the council, according to a senior security agent who requested anonymity.
The officer said,
“Our men have been on the ground there (Kurami) since Saturday night and a search party has already been launched for the three abducted victims.”
SP Gambo Isah, the spokesman for the Katsina police command, could not be reached for comment because his phone lines were constantly ringing.
He had also yet to respond to the text message that had been sent to him.
Kurami’s flat at the lawmaker’s official quarters in Katsina was locked and his official phone lines were turned off on Sunday.
