SEEING JONAH AFTER 15 YEARS, I WEPT!, WHAT YOU MUST ALL LEARN FROM HIM

Recently, I saw Jonah along the street. I had to park and picked him. He looked so unkempt, dirty and worried. From his responses to my greetings, it was obvious that all is not well with him. I am not really surprised. Apart from the fact that Nigeria is a difficult place, the Scriptures cannot be broken concerning people like him.So many years ago, we lived in the same vicinity. To whomever he considered a friend, he would accost and market himself: he could unscramble DSTV, GOtv, etc so you watch free for life. Same with bypassing NEPA Meter or slowing it down so it won’t read fast. He could crack MTN, Airtel, Glo, Spectranet so you can use data free for life. If you have any stolen Apple product, he could crack it. He said he has been doing this since the days of Multilinks and Starcoms.
After marketing these to me, I saw an expectation on his face. He thought I would jump at the offer Immediately. I asked him: is this the business he was doing to feed yourself and family? He grinned and said yes o. He has made money and was having a building project somewhere in Ikorodu. The business is good and so many people around me were his customers. He began to mention names, adding that he could train me at a fee.
I told him immediately that with a business like this, he would go nowhere in life. He stood up immediately, asking me not to curse him if I was not ready to patronise him. He justified himself that God has given him brain to do wonders, rather than bless him as a pastor, I was cursing him. He walked away in a fit of anger. Obviously, he was not ready to hear my sermon.
That first encounter was the last day I saw him. I wouldn’t know if he started avoiding me or thought I would expose him. I just didn’t see him again. After about a year, I asked of him from someone. I was told he took ill and was taken back to Ekiti. No one could trace him since then until this new encounter!
By the time he would alight from my vehicle, I saw a man who has gone through untold pains and has lost all. His wife has disappeared with two children and he doesn’t know where they are. He is currently squatting with a friend at Ikorodu and that friend is about ejecting him. He just came back to Lagos after a protracted illness.
The state of his mind: He is not attending any church. Pastors are liars, they want to eat his tithe. All born-agains are going to hell, they are born wuruwuru. Adeboye is a thief, Oyedepo is worse! God will soon expose all Nigerian pastors. Even me, egbon Bola, where did I get money to buy this jeep? I’ve been collecting tithes, abi?
I shed tears as Jonah was ranting. Instead of mending his ways to make peace with God, he is busy creating enemies in his imagination. A man who has nothing, who has probably never given tithe in any Church, saying pastors are eating tithes. What a shame!
My message to you, my reader:
You cannot be living a dubious life and prosper. If the wicked seems to be rich and prosperous, as Jonah thought he was so many years ago, it cannot last. It’s always with pains and heartaches. Their peace is short-lived. Their prosperity will fizzle out like smoke in a few days! Only the wealth you work for gives lasting peace and joy…Jonah and his cohorts, seek peace with God!
