Bruno Fernandes believes that the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo will increase Manchester United’s likelihood of claiming silverware this season.
After 12 years, Fernandes is recognized as a leading figure in persuading the 36-year-old to return to the United States.
Since the announcement two weeks ago, Ronaldo’s transfer from Juventus has prevailed in the football headlines, now that everybody awaits his potential second debut when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side take on Newcastle this weekend.
Although Fernandes has been out of the country and has not yet worked at Carrington with his international teammate, it’s clear that he feels the same buzz around the transfer as the rest of us.
And he believes the former Real Madrid star’s legendary winning mentality will only help boost the desire of an already hungry United squad.
“We know the enthusiasm will be red hot, everyone knows Cristiano is in the house,” Bruno said, while away with the Selecao.
“Everyone is very confident and happy that he is back, the players too.
“We know what he can give us, and our focus, like Cristiano’s, is to win.
“With him, we know we are closer to winning [trophies].”
