Opinion: How Ronaldo Transfer To City May Affect Other Players
Ronaldo reportedly requesting £510,000 per week to join City, making him the club’s top earner and potentially upsetting other members of the squad.
City’s highest earner is Kevin De Bruyne, who earns £385,000 per week, followed by Raheem Sterling, who earns £300,000 per week, John Stones (£250k), and new £100 million acquisition Jack Grealish, who earns £230k per week.
If City acquires Ronaldo, he will earn £125k per week more than any other player, and there is concern that this may cause resentment among others in Pep Guardiola’s squad, leading to poor performance on match days.
Manchester City has been heavily associated with football legend for several days now, and they are willing to go to any length to secure the world’s best footballer. However, numerous difficulties and issues must be solved if a deal is to be reached.
Juventus wants 25-30 million euros (£21-25 million) for football star or a player in exchange for Cristiano, who has a year left on his contract. Manchester City, on the other hand, is unwilling to let go of a player and is instead willing to give Ronaldo all the money by offering him £53 million in salaries over two years.
The city’s move compelled the player to accede to personal terms.
