Unbelievable! Police Arrest Man For Threatening To Kidnap His Relative’s Child If He Fails To Pay Him N1M

    Kidnap

Tukur Ahmad, a suspected kidnapper who allegedly threatened to kidnap one of his relatives if he was not given the sum of One Million Naira, has been apprehended by police in Kano state.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, said in a statement on Monday, September 27, that the complainant had been receiving threats from an unknown person who demanded N1m or he or one of his children would be kidnapped.

“On 01/09/2021 at about 1700 hours, a complaint was lodged by a resident of Danzabuwa Village, Bichi LGA, Kano State, that he was contacted and threatened on the telephone to pay the sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000:00), otherwise himself or one of his children would be kidnapped,” Kiyawa stated.

“Upon receipt of the complaint, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, raised and instructed a team of detectives led by SP Shehu Dahiru to trace and arrest the culprit

“The team swiftly swung into action. Following credible intelligence and sustained follow up, traced and arrested the suspect one Tukur Ahmad, ‘m’, 28 years old, of Soro Daya Village, Tsanyawa LGA, Kano State at Panda Village, Keffi LGA, Nassarawa State on the 25/09/2021, i.e. 24 days after the report

“On preliminary investigation, the suspect disclosed he is a relative of the complainant and that he visits his house frequently. He confessed that, he contacted the complainant and demanded the sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000:00), and that if he refuses to pay the money, one of his children would be kidnapped. Investigation into the case has been completed and the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.” he added.

CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, thanked the people of Kano for their unwavering support and cooperation. He urged residents to continue praying for the state and the nation and to report any incidents to the nearest police station rather than taking the law into their own hands.

According to the statement, raids on criminal hideouts and black spots will continue across the state until all criminally inclined individuals either repent or are arrested and brought before the law. “The Command will maintain the tempo in ensuring the state’s peaceful atmosphere.”
