Unbelievable! Nigerian Track Star, Patience Okon-George Reveals Why Her Husband Left Her
Patience Okon-George, a Nigerian track star who competed in the all relays race at the recently concluded Tokyo 2020 Olympics, told a heartbreaking story of her broken marriage.
The track talent, who was competing in her second Olympics, represented the country in the women’s 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m mixed relays in Tokyo 2020.
In an interview with Johny Edward about her life off the tracks, Patience said that her husband left her and the children because he told her to quit athletics, when their second daughter, was just two years old.
According to her, the spouse departed in 2010 and ceased responding to anyone, even his children. She was on the verge of quitting when she had the idea of starting a business, which her husband would not support. She had to continue her athletics because she was so passionate about sports in order to make a living and care for her two children. “At first, it was hard and tough, but I grew used to it.” She stated.
When asked if any of her daughters have expressed an interest in sports, In her comments, she stated that her daughter is talented, that the youngster has been with her throughout training, and that she has already shown a strong interest in sports.
