Orji Uzor Kalu speaks on Biafra, tell Igbos what to do (see what he says)
Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia, has spoken out about the latest agitations for an independent state of Biafra, asking Igbos to embrace unity and remain dedicated to one Nigeria.
Kalu issued a post on his social media page urging Igbos and all Nigerians to avoid all types of violence and to be aware of their words in order to avoid reliving or pursuing a repeat of the 1967 civil war.
“Any peace-loving Nigerian, not just an Igbo man, gets emotional whenever the 1967–1970 civil war is discussed.
We should not, via words or acts, seek to repeat that heinous genocide.
“We must realize that every battle comes to an end at a table.”
“Instead of destroying, we should create.” Isn’t it better to get to the table and avoid devastation before arriving at the table?
We require infrastructure, investments, and a lack of hostility.
As a result, we implore you to pause and embrace peace.”
