In their final exhibition game before the Olympics, the high-flying Nigerian D’Tigers were defeated by Australia.
In their final friendly game before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the D’Tigers were heavily defeated by Australia, the world’s third-ranked team, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, according to Completesports.
Mike Brown’s team was thrashed by the Australians by 39 points, winning 108-69.
Australia dominated the opening quarter, winning 26 – 13 and leading 49 – 29 at halftime.
By the end of the third quarter, the score was 84 – 46 in favour of Australia, which will be competing in the Olympics for the 15th time.
When the D’Tigers face Australia in the Olympic group stage, they will look to revenge the loss.

Coach Mike Brown made a lineup change for this game in order to give some players additional playing time. Josh Okojie and Gabe Nnamdi retained their lead roles, while Ike Nwamu, Precious Achiuwa, and KZ Okpala were replaced by Jahlil Okafor, Miye Oni, and Chimezie Metu.
The game against Australia came after Nigeria’s team upset the United States, who was ranked first and thrashed fourth-ranked Argentina.
