In Panjagutta, Hyderabad, India, a 33-year-old Nigerian student was nabbed with four grams of cocaine.
Daniel Ayotunde Olamide, the accused, was recently freed from prison after spending time on narcotics trafficking. His earlier arrest was detailed in a LIB report.
Another suspect, John Paul, a 37-year-old Nigerian who lives in Delhi, is on the run.
On Saturday, October 2, 2021, the South Zone Commissioner’s Task Force apprehended Olamide at GVK Mall in Punjagutta after receiving a tip.
In the police limits of Hyderabad and Cyberabad, he was discovered distributing drugs to consumers. Along with the contraband, a Honda Activa scooter was taken from him.
Olamide, a degree student at Kutatpally’s Vivekananda College, arrived in Hyderabad on a student visa in 2014. In Shaikpet, he resides near Dream Valley.
Olamide was an addict who began trafficking cocaine a few years ago after meeting Delhi-based Nigerian peddler John Paul, according to inspector S. Raghavendra.
“Daniel was arrested once earlier by Langar Houz police in October 2020.” the inspector said, adding that he just came out of prison recently.
Once released from jail, he went back to supplying drugs with the help of John Paul and charged Rs. 8,000-10,000 for one gram of cocaine.
He was booked under the NDPS Act and handed over to Punjagutta police.
