Unbelievable! NCC Expresses Readiness To Introduce 5G Network In Nigeria
The Nigerian Communications Commission has stated that the country is ready to implement a 5G network.
Umar Danbatta, the NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman, stated that this was part of the commission’s commitment to putting Nigeria at the forefront as a technology-driven economy.
According to Danbatta, the commission was ready and waiting for the Federal Government’s approval before launching the services.
He made the revelation during a public hearing in Abuja on Thursday on the draft frequency spectrum (fees and pricing) and yearly operating levy rules.
According to him, the move came after a series of pre-trial rollout exercises conducted by MTN and Airtel networks, which justified the commission’s decision to begin the deployment plan across the country.
He went on to say that the commission was now ready to begin the rollout and had already submitted the plan to the federal government for approval, as the federal government has the only authority to do so.
