My marriage is in trouble – housemaid palava
Please help me look into this situation. I am married with two children, an eight-year-old daughter and a five-year-old boy. My niece, 11, and a housemaid, 15, are also staying with us.
On Monday, I handed my wife money to go shopping for groceries, clothing for herself and her children, as well as our housekeeper.
My wife went shopping the other day and only bought clothes for herself, our children, and she did not buy anything for the housemaid.
She said that as long as we feed and send her to school, the girl doesn’t need any clothes and that the rest is up to her parents.
The girl who is our house help is also my wife’s cousin from the same village.
Despite the fact that she is just 15, this girl is so wonderful to our children that she is like a second mother to them. I have never had a problem with her.
I was so angry with her that I told her that if she can’t treat another woman’s child well, she doesn’t deserve to be a mother; yes, I did scream at her.
She accused me of sleeping with the little girl, which I denied, but she was furious and couldn’t stop weeping all night.
She didn’t cook my breakfast this morning and didn’t return my welcome.
Please tell me if I overreacted and what I should do next!
Did I take the wrong action in the first place?
