Mourinho wants Tammy to play for Nigeria if England snub continues
Jose, it’s too late! Tammy is now a full international for England.
If England continues to ignore Tammy Abraham, famous coach Jose Mourinho has suggested that he switch his international allegiance to Nigeria.
Abraham, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, chose to play for the Three Lions and has made three appearances.
Despite the fact that he is no longer eligible to play for Nigeria, Mourinho stated that if England manager Gareth Southgate continues to leave him out of his squad, he will tell the Roma striker to switch nationalities.
“I am trying to create a monster of a forward for Gareth Southgate,” the Roma boss said before his side lost 3-2 away at Verona in the Serie A.
“Unless he doesn’t have proper eyes and still not call him up with the England national team, then I would suggest for Tammy to switch countries.”
Abraham, 23, is no longer eligible to play for Nigeria after making his competitive debut for England.
Prior to a change of heart, he considered playing for the Super Eagles.
Tammy Abraham met with Amaju Pinnick, but the attacker chose to play for England.
After a meeting with Abraham in 2017, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced that Abraham had agreed to represent Nigeria, but the striker denied the rumours and eventually joined the England side.
