Man Storms School With Cutlass to Hack Teacher Who Beat His Daughter In Ogun
Abidemi Oluwaseun, a 35-year-old man, is being sought by police after he led thugs into Baptist Girls College Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State, to attack a teacher who he claims beat his 15-year-old daughter.
According to police, Oluwaseun was apprehended alongside two others, Fayesele Olabanji (25 years) and Alebiosu Quawiyu (24 years).
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, said on Tuesday that the principal of Baptist Girls College Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, had informed the police that the trio stormed the school in an unregistered vehicle, armed with a brand new cutlass and threatening to hack down a teacher.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, said the suspects be properly investigated and charged to court as soon as possible, warning against such unruly behaviour in any public or private institution.
According to Oyeyemi, the DPO Kemta division, CSP Opebiyi Sunday, immediately mobilized his men to the scene, where the three were apprehended on school grounds.
During questioning, Abidemi Oluwaseun admitted to hiring the other two men to the school “to teach the teacher who beat his daughter a lesson for the rest of his life,” Oyeyemi explained.
He went on to say that preliminary investigations had revealed that while the teacher was teaching, some of the students, including the suspect’s daughter, were mocking him and distracting the other students.
He claimed the teacher flogged them as a punishment, but the suspect’s daughter went home and reported to her father, who was said to have mobilized two thugs to the school with a cutlass.
Meanwhile, Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, said the suspects should be thoroughly investigated and charged in court as soon as possible, warning against such disruptive behaviour in any public or private institution.
