Man Allegedly Stabs Cousin To Death Over N150 in Adamawa
A man by the name, Kelfari Jediel,38 years old has been arrested for stabbing his uncle’s son Parambiu Alexander 20 years In a fight over the sum of N150 at Fotta community in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Kelfari who is a father of two being held by the criminal investigation department (CID) of the state in Yola narrated that him and the deceased were both engaged in a job and got paid on the 14th of April. The duo shared the money they were paid after completing the job, however, he was supposed to give the deceased a balance of #150 but decided not to do so. His refusal to give him the money led to a quarrel between them. He explained that a woman heard them fighting over the balance and settled the matter by giving Parambiu the sum of N150.
Not wanting to be cheated, Kelfari narrated that the deceased went back to meet him for his remaining balance of N150 insisting that the money given to him was merely a gift from the woman in question.
He further claimed that he went to the house of the deceased to explain to his mother and was advised to “go and report to the police”. Kelfari continues to claim that on his way out of the house the deceased grab hold of him and held him by the neck still demanding for money and in self-defense he had no choice but to stab him in the chest.
Parambiu was confirmed dead on his way to the health center in Fotta while Kelfari was later arrested.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the incident, said that investigation is ongoing after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.
