Man gets strokes of cane for stealing plantain in Bayelsa
After being caught stealing bunches of plantain in Bayelsa State, a man named Martins Dickson was given a few strokes of the cane and fined.
On Sunday, October 3, the suspect, alleged to be from Rivers State, was apprehended in the Agudama-Epe district of Yenagoa, the state capital.
The suspect, according to one Izibeyame Prudent, is known for stealing people’s plantains on Sundays when they are at church.

“HE WAS GIVEN SOME STROKE OF CANE WITH FINES TO PAY AND LET GO, SINCE HE CLAIMED HUNGER LET HIM GO FOR STEALING! THIS WAS THE DECISION REACHED THAN HANDING HIM OVER TO THE POLICE”
