Transfer: Man City Ruled Out Move For Barcelona Star
Man City is preparing to ramp up their search for a new striker, but they have ruled out a deal for Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann of France.
Pep Guardiola has a new striker at the top of his summer transfer list after allowing Sergio Aguero, Manchester City’s all-time leading scorer, to depart for free.
Antoine Griezmann, 30, was expected to replace Sergio Aguero, but that is no longer the case, with City officials opting for a much younger attacker in the place of Harry Kane or Erling Haaland.
Barcelona is aiming to free up finances in order to end their financial issue and are willing to allow Antoine Griezmann to depart this summer, although Pep Guardiola’s side will look to spend their money elsewhere in the current transfer season.
Manchester City’s name has also been mooted in a bid to trigger an auction for the 30-year-old, who has spent two years with the Catalan giants after coming for £107 million from Atletico Madrid.
Griezmann, who has had a difficult playing career since joining Barcelona from Atletico Madrid, will be aiming to put an end to the rumours surrounding his future.
