Manchester City Has Removed Benjamin Mendy’s Merchandise From Its Store
Manchester City Football Club has removed all of Benjamin Mendy’s merchandise from its online store. In August 2021, the French defender was accused of sexually assaulting four women.
On its official website, The Telegraph Football confirmed the news. Mendy has been detained since the beginning of the case and is charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
Manchester City has since suspended the player indefinitely after the incident was brought to the club’s attention by Chester Police. On its website, the club issued a statement confirming its decision to suspend the player.
Manchester City can confirm that Benjamin Mendy’s investigation has been halted following his arrest by police today.
The matter is currently being litigated, and the club will not be able to comment further until that process is completed.
Mendy has been detained since the beginning of the case. On January 24th, 2022, he will appear for another pre-trial hearing.
