Man arrested for racially abusing Marcus Rashford claims to be drunk when he sent tweet A man who was detained after sending a racist message to Marcus Rashford has admitted that he may have done so while drunk.
After the Three Lions striker missed a penalty in Sunday’s final against Italy, Nick Scott, 50, initially denied sending the hateful letter. However, he has since admitted that he may have emailed the insulting statements “unknowingly” while inebriated.
Scott is now pleading with United striker Rashford for pardon, revealing that he benefited from the star’s free meal promotion.

The football coach told The Sun: “I was hammered at the time and don’t remember doing it.
“But if I did I want Marcus to know that I’m truly sorry and I apologise sincerely.
“After everything he’s done for my kids and all the other kids in the country with the free school meals.
“He’s absolutely brilliant. He’s helped my family and I can’t thank him enough.”
He also insisted he is not racist, adding: “I’m a quarter black South African myself and I was married to a German.”
Scott was one of four people detained in connection with racial taunts directed against England footballers.
Minutes after Rashford missed a penalty, his father posted a tweet on Twitter.
The tweet said: “Marcus Rashford that MBE needs burning ya fake.
“Pack them bags and get to ya own country.”Follow us: Twitter
