Let Me Go If You Won’t Use Me – Frustrated Star Player Warns Arsenal
Ainsley Maitland Niles, an Arsenal midfielder, has informed manager Mikel Arteta that he should either play him next season or transfer him this summer.
Maitland-Niles joined Arsenal as a teenager in 2003 and made his professional debut for the club in 2014.
After battling for playing time under Arteta, the 23-year-old was loaned to West Brom for the 2020/21 season.
Before joining West Brom in the January transfer window, the England international had only made five Premier League starts for Arteta’s team.
“It would be easier if I received a phone call from someone at Arsenal and they indicated they wanted to meet tomorrow,” Maitland-Niles told The Telegraph.
“They can inform me if they plan to play me again in the future or if they want to sell me.
“I’ve heard they’re trying to clear some room [in the squad] and save money, so I’m not sure.
“I’m looking for a decision.
I want some clarity. And then hopefully I can get to work with whoever I need to get to work with.“
Maitland-Miles current deal with Arsenal expires in two years.
