Lai Mohammed Returns To Nigeria From US After Failed Attempt To Meet Twitter Executives
Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Information Minister has returned home after a fruitless trip to the United States, where he was shunned by Twitter executives and the American media. He is returning home after a fruitless trip to the United States.
Following the banning of the app in Nigeria by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in June, Mohammed traveled to meet with top executives of the popular microblogging site, Twitter.
However, a top source revealed that the minister’s trip was fruitless because he was unable to meet with Twitter officials and was also snubbed by American media. Last Tuesday, we received an exclusive footage of the minister and Olusegun Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the President (Media), Office of the Minister of Information and Culture, boarding a Delta Airlines flight bound for the United States.
“Lai Mohammed and his PA are returning to Nigeria after failed attempt to meeet Twitter excos and also the American media he claimed he wanted to meet in Washington, D.C. shunned him,” the source said about their trip to the US.
Meanwhile, our newspaper has got the duo’s Delta Airline flight details to Nigeria. According to information accessible to SaharaReporters, Mohammed and Adeyemi are traveling First Class, with a scheduled departure time from JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York) to LOS (Lagos) of 9.33pm, however this may be delayed.
At JFK, the pair will use Gate B38 in Terminal 4, with an arrival time of 12.58pm, which is also delayed.
The pair will arrive at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos via Gate D44. Mohammed’s registered name is Raufulai Mohammed, and he has Seat 7J/Delta One (I), while Adeyemi has Seat 7A/Delta One (I).
The overall flying time is 14 hours and 15 minutes. On June 5, 2021, the Buhari-led administration banned Twitter indefinitely, preventing it from operating in Nigeria after the social media platform erased tweets written by Buhari.
