IPOB Issues Ultimatum To Federal Government For The Release of Nnamdi Kanu
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has given an ultimatum to the Federal Government, threatening to shut down the Southeast if its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is not released.
The IPOB leader is charged with terrorism, treasonable felony, operating an unlawful society, publishing defamatory material, illegal guns ownership, and improper importation of goods, among other things.
It will be recalled that on Monday, July 26, 2021, the Federal High Court in Abuja delayed Nnamdi Kanu’s trial till October 21 due to the Nigerian government’s refusal to appear in court.
After the Department of State Services (DSS) blamed Kanu’s absence in court on “logistical concerns,” Justice Binta Nyako deferred the trial until October.
