Ian Wright mentions 3 players that disappointed Arsenal during the weekend
On Sunday, Arsenal clung on for a 0-0 draw at Brighton, with Ian Wright claiming that three of our players were not up to par.
At the Amex this weekend, it was the home side who created the most opportunities, with Aaron Ramsdale saving our blushes on multiple occasions, and the Seagulls deserve credit for their efforts.
Despite having a lot of quality on the pitch, we were not at our best, generating very little, and Ian Wright believes Martin Odegaard, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Thomas Partey could have done better.“I thought that Aubameyang unfortunately today was poor. I thought Partey was poor. Odegaard didn’t play very well,” Wright said on BBC’s Match of the Day(via TBRFootball).
It was a difficult game, and thanks to Brighton’s attention and effort, we were never able to establish a stranglehold. However, this is a time when you really need your best players to stand up to the plate, and they were unable to do so.
Aubameyang was one of our most clinical and hard-working players against Spurs last weekend, and we’ll need to work on getting back to that level of play after the international break.
