How to test if your Honey is Original or Fake
To be honest, pure honey isn’t cheap, and it’s a shame that you might be wasting money on something you think is pure but isn’t. You’re more likely to acquire pure honey if you buy honey from outside of town, in locations where beekeeping and bee farming are prevalent.
Now it’s time for the tests:
- Using a matchstick:
Light a matchbox that has been dipped in honey. If it glows, it means it is pure. If it doesn’t light up, it’s because it contains water or other additives that inhibit the matchstick from lighting up.
Instead of using a matchstick, fold a little piece of tissue, dip it in honey (pour a small amount into a small bowl first), and light it with a lighter. The bit of tissue will catch fire if your honey is pure.
