HOW TO MAKE MONEY FOR YOUR FAMILY AS A PASTOR
By Philip Aryee
A false balance is an abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
Many young ministers have been deceived to abandon their businesses and professions to enter into ministry if they want to see God’s blessings in their lives.
Realistically speaking you cannot survive especially in this age that we live in with its complexities when you are starting life and ministry without any source of income or support.
We need to bring balance else after many years we will breed a generation of people who are bitter and disappointed in ministry.
The young people we told to abandon their professions as doctors, architects, pharmacists etc to go on missions in remote villages without salaries etc will realize that their lives haven’t improved, the ministry has become tough, and will soon rebel against any system.
Ministry shouldn’t destroy lives and destinies.
In this age, we shouldn’t just ask people to come into ministry without any skill.
A church that employs pastors who don’t have any source of income will suffer in the payment of salaries and a pastor who only depends on salary will struggle.
Sometime ago I met a man with 4 kids that work with a church on a salary of 250ghc a month. How can such a man have peace of mind to fulfil his ministry.
I know of a young pastor of a ministry who doesn’t take a penny from his church because he has a shipping business, couple of shops, he sells cars etc and is in full time ministry as well.
As we speak now, this pastor has bought plots of land and about to build a sanctuary for God. In fact, this pastor is the second-highest giver in his church and yet doing ministry effectively.
In our bible school, there is a module we teach called THE THEOLOGY LIFE MANAGEMENT and this module has changed the mindset of many people.
We now have pastors who are into the production of detergents, restaurants, bookshops etc, and still doing ministry effectively.
Don’t enter into ministry without any skill and become a burden on the church.
Never forget this….no father will pay for your children’s school fees, your utility bill, your maternity bill for you. AFTER CHURCH SERVICE IN THE EVENING DO UBER, BOLT ETC to support yourself.
Many pastors when you take the church away from them they have nothing.
**Start a school
**Start a clinic
**Start water business
**Become an author & a trainer
**Become a part-time lecturer
**Sell nice African wears
**Develop your personal ministry outside your church
**Set up your wife in business
**Get into real estate
Many of our fathers are directly or indirectly into ventures that bring them income. Some of them their wife’s have serious businesses.
For example, from the onset of Bishop David Oyedepo’s ministry, he was into publishing of his books. I read in his book the mandate that he has over 200 secondary schools across Africa. Now he is into serious businesses I can’t name all AND STILL PASTORING OVER 200,000 members at his headquarters. YOU THAT YOU ARE STARTING LIFE AND MINISTRY THINK YOU CAN SURVIVE ONLY ON DEPENDING ON THE CHURCH.
My own friend and brother BISHOP TITI OFEI of ACCRA BUSINESS SCHOOL is an excellent example.
In conclusion, don’t let anyone deceive you. When the rubber hits the road your spiritual father or general overseer won’t be there to rescue you. I won’t be there. No one will be there.
BE HONEST AND THINK ABOUT THIS
