High Cost Of Living: How Do You Manage Your Salary?
The high cost of living in Nigeria is due to the country’s poor economic situation. Every day, the price of common commodities rises due to hyperinflation. The implication is that Nigerians buy few high-current goods.
With this untold hardship staring at everybody’s face, the Federal government has not deemed it necessary to implement the N30, 000.00 minimum wages proposed by the NLC. The question that is begging for an answer is, how do people survive with their meagre salary?
For me, it hasn’t been easy at all.
When I get paid, the first thing I do is make a list of what I don’t have in the house and go shopping first, especially foodstuffs, because the worst thing that could happen to you in this kind of economic situation is that you go hungry.
Then I subscribed to the internet and DSTV to keep myself entertained at home in order to avoid doing things that would cause me to leave my house and waste money.
I try not to carry a lot of cash with me so that I don’t succumb to the temptation of unnecessary spending.
Finally, as a single man, I avoid slay mamas for unnecessary billing, and if I can’t, I’ll just say things to get them upset without apologizing so that the drama can continue.
