Has Your Ex Ever Stalked On You? Share Your Experiences
Has your ex ever stalked on you?
The media has a bad habit of portraying stalking as normal dating behaviour. Popular TV shows, for example, feature lovable underdogs fumbling in their quest for love as they study their crush, participate in similar activities, inquire about them, and plan coincidental meetups.
If the object of their affection does not fall in love with them right away, they are perceived as being “hard to get,” and their efforts to win them over are increased. Viewers are socialized to perceive grand gestures as romantic as a result of these unrealistic depictions of “love,” and suitors are socialized to be persistent.
These actions are frequently unwelcome, unwelcome, and downright creepy. When partners attempt these grand gestures, it’s easy to mistake their actions for intense love because we’re taught that we should want this from a partner.
However, stalking is more about obsession and control than it is about love. To make matters worse, most stalkers or people who repeatedly harass or threaten another person are people you know. According to experts, a large number of women and men have been stalked by a current or former intimate partner.
