Female Student Killed In Cult Clash as Ogume Grammar School in Delta State Shuts Down
The state government has reportedly shut down Ogume Grammar School in Ogume, Delta State, following a cultist battle on the school grounds that resulted in the death of a female student and the destruction of items worth millions of naira.
When hoodlums raided the school with all types of weapons last week, a female student was slain and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.
The principal was allegedly beaten by the hoodlums before being brought to Kwale General Hospital for treatment.
The cultists set fire to the school’s ICT centre, principal’s office, her car, and administrative office, among other things.
During a meeting with the leaders of the Ogume community on Wednesday, October 20, in Asaba, the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu, confirmed the school’s closure.
Mrs Ezewu stated that the state government’s decision to close the school was in the best interests of the community and the state as a whole because it was aimed to ensure the safety of the school’s instructors and children.
