Bursted! Father And Son Apprehended By EFCC Over Alleged Internet Fraud
According to reports, a man and his father were arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, for alleged Internet fraud.
Malik Giles Bakare and his father, Isa Bola Bakare, are suspected of conspiring, computer-related fraud, gaining by false pretense, and keeping proceeds of illicit operations.
On May 31, 2021, officers from the Nigeria Police Force CID, Alagbon, Lagos, apprehended Malik Giles Bakare and handed him over to the Commission.
During the investigation, his father, Isa Bola Bakare, appeared before the Commission, claiming possession of a Range Rover car worth around N46 million that had been retrieved from his son.

Wilson Uwujaren, an EFCC spokesman, said Malik worked as a middleman between fraudsters in a statement released on Wednesday, June 9.
“He connects internet criminals throughout the world with pickers, and obtains a portion of every successful transaction,” the document reads.
The vehicle, an iPhone 12 Pro Max, an iPhone 8, and “other incriminating materials” were were confiscated from the suspects.
