Ronaldo’s mum reveals what player told her about transfer to Man City
Dolores Aveiro, Mother of Cristiano Ronaldo, has said that her son has pledged not to join Man City this summer.
After making up his mind to leave Juventus, the 36-year-old was strongly linked with a move to City.
Pep Guardiola was interested in bringing in Ronaldo after Sergio Aguero left the Etihad as a free agent to join Barcelona.
But 12 years after he left the club for Real Madrid, Ronaldo returned to Manchester United.
His mother has now revealed the conversation they had about the Portugal captain’s future.
“On the TV there was talk of Manchester City, but he said to me ‘Mom, don’t worry about what they’re saying because I’m going to Manchester [United],” Aveiro said on the ADN de Leao podcast.
“I said I liked that a lot and he pleased me.”
