Does God Tell You Who To Marry?
If a man chooses a lady to marry, a cleric will usually tell him to pray to God for confirmation of whom to marry, but does God really tell you who to marry?
Let me state unequivocally that I do not believe God reveals to us who we will marry in advance, at least not with absolute certainty.
I understand that you may be convinced that God did share this with you, but would you be willing to consider—at least long enough to read this post—that the “voice” or nudge you heard or felt was not from God? That perhaps you misinterpreted his voice or your circumstances? Here’s why I’d like to put you to the test.
I don’t want you to have a faith crisis if and when you don’t marry this person. I will hate for you to dismiss another godly man or woman who is interested in you because you’re unwilling to give anyone else a chance.
More than that, I want you to have a proper understanding of God. Does God Speak?
Here’s what I believe you have correct: God expresses himself. Fortunately for us, he wants us to get to know him!
Long ago, God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets, but in these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things and through whom he also created the world.
How will you know who God has told you to marry? Let’s talk about it.
