Usifo Ataga’s Murder Case: Chidinma Ojukwu Indicted While 4 Others Were Cleared
Mrs. Olayinka Adeyemi, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), has cleared Babalola Disu, Abayomi Olutayo, Oluwo Ifeoluwa, and other people who were indicted in connection with the murder of Super Television CEO Michael Usifo Ataga.
The DPP nominated Chidinma Ojukwu (22), and her accomplice, Adedapo Quadri, for a murder trial in a legal advisory delivered on August 20.
Egbuchu Chioma, who was discovered in possession of the deceased’s iPhone 7, and originally refused to relinquish the phone on demand, will also face charges.
According to the DPP, they have a prima facie case of conspiracy to murder, murder, and conspiracy to conduct forgery.
However, the DPP stated that after careful analysis of the circumstances, she was of the opinion that no offence had been established against Disu, Olutayo, and Ifeoluwa in the case.
“No offence is disclosed against them and they should be released if still in custody,” she stated.
The DPP said Disu, who was found at the lodge where Ataga was killed, had no link with Miss Ojukwu “before and after the commission of the crime.”
The DPP stated that the offence of receiving stolen property could not be proven against Olutayo and Ifeoluwa.
