Chelsea Ready To Double Mason Mount’s wages
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has made an enormous impact since taking over at Stamford Bridge and will now reward one of his key players with a new contract.
Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in January, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has taken the Premier League by storm, helping the club reclaim its title-winning status. And the German appears to be on the verge of giving star midfielder Mason Mount a lucrative new contract.
Tuchel led Chelsea to Champions League glory only four months after taking over as manager, and he has overseen significant progress in west London.
The manager has seen a large number of his charges step up to the plate, and midfielder Mount has made an important contribution to Tuchel’s team.
Mount has been a key figure in Chelsea’s evolution in 2021 and is now set to be rewarded with a lucrative new contract, according to 90min ( via express).
The 22-year-old signed his last contract more than two years ago, before making his Premier League debut.
Mount’s contract has three years left on it, but Chelsea executives are reportedly willing to double his weekly salary to £150,000 in recognition of his importance to the team.
“He is crucial for our game – he is an absolutely key player and he deserves all the support that we give him,” Tuchel said of Mount earlier this year.
“He is incredibly talented and, even more importantly, he has the personality at a very young age to keep his feet on the ground, to arrive every day with a smile on his face.
“Mason is simply happy to be out there on the pitch and playing football.
“It doesn’t make a difference if he is playing short-sided games or four against four or if he plays out there in boxes.”
