Can you get married to an Osu person after knowing?
The Osu caste system, which is an ancient institution that prohibits any type of social engagement or marriage with a group of people known as the ‘Osu,’ was practised by the Igbos in the past.
A deity known as Ala gives the regulations that must be followed by the people of the land in order for the land given to them by Chukwu to prosper (God).
To prevent the wrath of the soil god, Ala, laws were enacted that required offenders found guilty of heinous actions to be sent away. Osu is the name given to these cast-offs.
However, most people are unaware of such activities as a result of the recent revolution caused by Christianity and Western Education, but certain people have appointed themselves keepers of such knowledge. It is being passed down from generation to generation in their families.
CAN YOU MARRY AN ‘OSU’ MAN/WOMAN NOW THAT YOU HAVE THIS INFORMATION?
