After some outstanding performances for Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September.
After returning to the club amid much excitement, the Portuguese made his first start of the season against Newcastle on September 11 and scored twice.
His first goal was a tap-in, but the 36-year-old showed he can still outrun players by sprinting into the area and slotting home.
After United fell behind at West Ham, Ronaldo leveled the game and shifted the tide back in his side’s favour until Jesse Lingard scored a late victory.
Despite the fact that he was unable to prevent United from losing 1-0 to Aston Villa at the end of September, he was deemed deserving of the award.
While Ronaldo’s European efforts were not evaluated for the Premier League title, he did score in a 2-1 defeat away at Young Boys before scoring a thrilling win at home against Villarreal in the Champions League.
