Efcc chairman Bawa reveals new figure on how much former minister Diezani stole
Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has stated that the minister who he previously claimed bought $37.5 million in property from a bank and deposited $20 million in cash is no longer serving in the ministry.
He indicated that he was referring to Diezani Alison Madueke, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources who is presently on the run. Remember that during an interview on Tuesday, Bawa described how the panel examined a female minister who, he claimed, conspired with the managing director of a bank to purchase a $37 million home.
Bawa stated on Thursday that the former minister would still face charges if she returned to Nigeria.
On Thursday, he spoke at a press conference at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
