Shocking! 3 -Year-Old Girl Found Inside Gutter With Her Hands And Legs Tied In Ondo
A good Samaritan was said to have rescued a three-year-old girl who had been discovered inside a gutter at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Ondo State.
The small girl, Esther, reportedly lost consciousness and nearly died after being tied in both hands and legs, placed in a sack, and dropped in a dirty gutter in Ondo’s Ayeyemi neighbourhood.
Dr. Oluwole Ige, Chief Medical Director of the UNIMEDTH, stated on Friday that the toddler was taken to the hospital unconscious but was resuscitated by the hospital’s team of medical personnel.
“On July 9, 2021, a three-year-old abandoned child was discovered, discarded in an erosion trail in Ayeyemi, Ondo City, and was brought to the UNIMED Teaching Hospital accident and emergency ward by a good Samaritan,” he explained.
“The girl-child was brought unconscious, terribly cold, tied in both legs and arms inside a bag.
“Immediately, the UNIMED Teaching Hospital personnel swung into action to save the life of the dying child despite the industrial strike action of the medical doctors in the state.
“A critical medical care was given to her for days until she regained consciousness up till today of her discharge.”
The CMD further stated that the teaching hospital has invited representatives from the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to take over the girl’s ongoing social management and care.
She was eventually given over to Mr. Ariyo Idowu, Director of Social Service Department of Ondo West Local Government, for further care.
