Going it Alone: The Single Parent Family Ministry

Single parent families represent the fastest growing segment in Canada. The latest research shows that about 26% of Canadian families with children are headed by a single parent, a number that is increasing every year.

Single parents face a host of unique challenges. In addition to the regular issues faced by all families, there are social stresses, economic hardships and work-family pressures that add to the difficulties faced by these parents and their children.

Currently, there is a real lack of programs and resources available to help single parents and their families - especially ones with an outreach component. FamilyLife wants to help fill this void by serving single parent families worldwide by motivating and equipping national ministries, small groups, churches, families, and individuals to glorify God, make Christ known, and be used by Him in a single

parent family reformation. To give single parent families an opportunity to find lasting hope in Jesus by providing opportunities to show God’s love in tangible ways ... to families who sometimes feel as though they are battling against the odds.
